(case study) The story of Martha

Martha came to Nyahururu because the situation at home was unbearable. The father an alcoholic had subjected the family to perpetual violence and abject poverty. Martha left the home in search for refuge from her brutal father and she moved in with a well wisher in the neighbourhood. The well wisher however took advantage of the situation and abused her sexually several times and after a thorough beating he kicked her out and left her to die. At this moment a volunteer was notified and came to her rescueimmediately. Martha was taken to St. Rose girl rescue centre and the perpetrator was apprehended.
