Every Monday morning the staff, volunteers, core members and friends of St. Martin CSA, L’Arche Kenya and Talitha Kum gather to start the week with a moment of faith sharing. At this moment staff relate the Gospel with their personal experiences in working with communities and the beneficiaries.
It is this moment of sharing that we derive inspiration for another week of service. The sessions are ended with our Community Prayer.
DO NOT BE AFRAID
Do not be afraid my little child, because you are my beloved and I am well pleased with you.
Do not be afraid my little child, because I love you as I love Jesus and I care for you as the dearest of my children.
Do not be afraid my little child, because I dress with beauty the flowers of the field and I shall dress with love every day of your life.
Do not be afraid my little child, because I care for each bird of the air and much more will I take care of your needs.
Do not be afraid my little child, because I trust your heart more than you do and I send you as I sent Jesus.
Do not be afraid my little child, because you are dear to me and I will protect you wherever you go.
Do not be afraid my little child, for the pain you will endure because I will be with you till the end of time.
Do not be afraid my little child, when violence and death overwhelm you because life and resurrection will prevail.
Do not be afraid my little child, take hold of my hand and have faith even when confusion and doubt surround your life.
Do not be afraid my little child, because love banishes fear and my love for you has no limits.
Do not be afraid my little child, your own faith has saved you and you will do greater things than I have done.
Do not be afraid my little child, because the poor will always be with you and in them you will meet me everyday.
OUR COMMUNITY PRAYER
Our Father remove from us selfishness and make us ready to give freely since we freely received.
Jesus our brother
let us follow your example
in caring for the needy
always remembering that the
greatest is the one who serves more and the first is the last of all.
Spirit of Love bind us together
against the one who tries to divide us and grant us forgiveness and mercy.
We thank you, Lord
for the joy of sharing with the poor and for the healing of our hearts.
Amen
