Siporah, a middle-aged woman, has shown remarkable resilience in the face of life’s hardships, working tirelessly to provide for her family. Following a separation from her violent husband, Siporah became the sole caretaker for their six children. Initially renting a home in town, financial strain forced her to return to her maternal home, only to face additional challenges due to her brother’s violent behavior and neglect of their ailing mother, who developed symptoms of a mental illness. Taking responsibility, Siporah rented another house where she now cares for her mother, her children, and two grandchildren. Determined to improve their situation, Siporah supported her daughter’s vocational training in hairdressing and beauty therapy. With assistance from the project, her daughter now runs a salon, which has grown to include vegetable and charcoal sales to supplement income during low customer periods. “My biggest worry was that my daughter would remain jobless, but this project has given her an opportunity and become a source of income for our family.”
